The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder midsize SUV offers you and your family three rows of seating, a cozy cabin, and plenty of muscle to take on your adventures. The Pathfinder is one of our favorite SUVs in the Nissan lineup, and for good reason. The 2022 model has undergone a complete redesign that leaves us with a Pathfinder that’s better than it’s ever been.

As you progress through the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder SUV’s trim levels, its interior grows more and more luxurious. You’ll have four trim level options to choose from while you shop: the S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Standard Features

• First-row headroom with/without moonroof: 39.6/42.3 inches.
• Second-row headroom with/without moonroof: 38.4/39.6 inches.
• Third-row headroom with/without moonroof: 37.8/37.8 inches.
• Front-row leg room: 44.3 inches.
• Second-row legroom: 35.5 inches.
• Third-row legroom: 28 inches.
• First-row hip room: 58.3 inches.
• Second-row hip room: 56.3 inches.
• Third-row hip room: 46.7 inches.

Every Pathfinder draws power from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that outputs 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. All models come standard with front-wheel drive, but an all-wheel-drive system is an available upgrade for each trim level.

The Pathfinder S starts the lineup off strong with its interior features. Seating for up to eight passengers comes standard for each of the trim levels but the Platinum, which comes standard with the SV and SL’s optional second-row captain’s chairs that lower the seating capacity to seven.

The Pathfinder offers up to 149.7 cubic feet of passenger volume. Behind the third row, you’ll be able to stash your stuff in up to 16.6 cubic feet of cargo space. With the third row folded down, you’ll get up to 47 cubic feet. With both rear rows folded down, the Pathfinder offers up to 80.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The Pathfinder also comes with an extra storage compartment underneath the rear cargo floor if you need to hide valuables or organize smaller gear.

Though each 2022 Nissan Pathfinder gives you plenty of space and strength for the road ahead, the SUV’s cabin gets more impressively luxurious the higher up the trim levels you go. Let’s take a look at what each one has to offer.

S

The Pathfinder S gives you a three-zone automatic climate control system that allows both front passengers and the rear passengers to create their ideal cabin environment. The S has a six-way manual driver’s seat with manually adjustable lumbar support. The cloth seat trim creates a cozy couch-like atmosphere.

Use the S’s standard 8-inch touch screen to integrate your smartphone with your SUV via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The Pathfinder S also includes Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system, and an auxiliary audio input jack.

SV

The SV upgrades to a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power-adjustable lumbar support. If you choose the second-row captain’s chairs upgrade, you can also get a removable second-row center console. The SV comes standard with heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel to help you stay comfortable all year long.

The SL upgrades the Pathfinder’s 8-inch touch screen to a 9-inch version. This larger screen has a built-in door-to-door navigation system that uses live traffic information to find you the best routes to your destination and keeps you updated on the way. Instead of relying on corded access to Apple CarPlay, the SL allows you to connect to your touch screen wirelessly. A wireless phone charger and a 13-speaker Bose sound system are options for the SL.

Platinum

For SUV drivers who want everything the already exciting Pathfinder has to offer, the Platinum is the only way to go. The Platinum comes standard with the SL’s standard and available features. The second-row captain’s chairs are standard with this top trim level. The Platinum features trim-specific Bronze Metallic brushed interior accents to give its cabin a more upscale personality.

This trim level switches out the leather-appointed seats with semi-aniline premium leather-appointed seats with quilted inserts. The front seats are climate-controlled with both heating and cooling functions. The second-row captain’s chairs come standard with a heating function. The Platinum’s standard loadout includes the otherwise available panoramic moonroof. Platinum-exclusive features include a power-tilting and telescoping steering column, an interior lighting system, a household-style 120-volt power outlet, and memory settings for the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and side mirrors.

The Platinum also has a full loadout of the Pathfinder’s technology features, including a digital dashboard with fully digital instrument gauges, a head-up display, the Bose sound system, the wireless phone charger, and more.
