The Ariya, arriving soon at AutoCenters Nissan in Herculaneum, Missouri, offers smooth, powerful, quiet performance, up to 300 miles range, and a stylish, comfortable, and tech-packed cabin. Here, we take a look at some of the Ariya’s cool new features.

Striking Exterior Design

The Nissan Ariya has a sleek, dynamic design that will attract admiring looks wherever you arrive. In place of a traditional grille, the bold front fascia features a seamless shield with the new Nissan logo lit up in crisp LED lights. The aerodynamic profile has sensual curves, while the sharply styled rear end, with its deep roof spoiler, demonstrates its sporty character.

Slim quad LED headlights, signature LED daytime running lights, and a full-width rear LED light bar create a distinctive impression day and night. You can choose your Ariya in one of six well-equipped trim levels: the Venture+, Engage, Engage+, Evolve+, Empower+, and Platinum+, each with increasing equipment levels.

Effortless Power and Long Range

Most Ariya models come standard with a single motor driving the front wheels. The Engage+ and top-of-the-line Platinum+ trims feature the intelligent e-4ORCE dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, which is optional for other models. All models have an 87-kWh battery pack, except the Engage trim, which has a 63-kWh battery.

Front-wheel-drive Ariyas have an output of up to 238 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. Twin motor e-4ORCE models pump out up to 389 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque and can take you from zero to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. The entry Venture+ offers a range of up to 304 miles, while the Platinum+ will take you up to 265 miles. That’s plenty, whether you’re commuting from Herculaneum to St. Louis or taking a Missouri or Illinois road trip.

Interior Features

Inside, the Ariya’s cabin offers understated sophistication, with available lights glowing from the dash, footwells, and doors, giving the interior a serene, luxurious, and lounge-like ambiance. The ample use of sound-absorbing materials ensures a quiet, refined ride. The flat battery pack design located at the base of the chassis allows a flat floor without interruptions.

In addition, the absence of a gas engine has allowed Nissan to install the climate control system under the hood. The resulting increase in space enables all passengers to stretch out and relax with the generous headroom and legroom. Nissan’s slim-profile zero-gravity front and outboard rear seats add to the spacious feel and provide superb comfort and support to help reduce fatigue on long trips.

All but the entry-level Venture+ have power-adjustable front seats, driver’s seat memory, heated front and rear seats, and a heated steering wheel for a comfortable start on those cold Missouri mornings. Most models offer stylish leatherette seating, while the top-of-the-range Platinum+ has luxurious Nappa leather upholstery.

An available power-sliding center console means you can move it forward or back to find the perfect relaxed driving position with the shifter and drive mode controls within easy reach. The wooden central dash trim features integrated flat haptic switches for the climate control system. When you’re parked, you can fold out a tray from under the center of the dash to act as a laptop station or picnic table.

In front of the driver is the Ariya’s standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that blends seamlessly with the 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen, which comes standard with a navigation system. You can take in all the information you need at a glance and scroll through with a swipe.

You can also swipe information between the two screens to customize and prioritize what you want to see and where. Most Ariya trims also feature a full-color head-up display projected onto the windshield that shows similar information to the cluster display, such as speed, range, battery status, and navigation.

Nissan’s advanced infotainment technology system keeps you connected on the Herculaneum roads. It features wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay integration, so you can access your favorite apps and music and make and receive calls. You also get Amazon Alexa for placing calls, playing music, controlling home smart devices, and more.

The standard six-speaker sound system features the latest SiriusXM with 360L, giving you access to satellite radio channels, audio streaming, Pandora stations, and more for an unrivaled listening experience. The Platinum+ trim ramps up the sound quality with a premium Bose 10-speaker audio system.

The Ariya features intelligent personal assistance technology with advanced natural voice recognition for effortless control of the multimedia and vehicle systems. Just say, “Hey, Nissan,” and ask for what you want, whether it’s adjusting the temperature or setting your navigation route.

The Ariya is the first Nissan to offer remote software upgrades for over-the-air updates. It automatically updates the Ariya’s software that controls the EV settings, chassis, climate control, electronics, and infotainment system.

Diver-Assistance Features

With the Ariya, you get various driver assistance technologies as standard. They include intelligent cruise control, distance control assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition.

With the Ariya Empower+ and Platinum+ models, you also get ProPILOT 2.0 — a semi-autonomous driving system that allows you to take your hands off the wheel in certain circumstances. Using the navigation system and 3D map data, ProPILOT 2.0 detects the type of road, speed limits, and direction and applies the appropriate speed and lane position. It can also take care of lane changing, passing, and exiting the highway. A driver monitoring system ensures you stay alert and ready to take over.
