Practicality and Performance Do Go Hand-in-Hand in the New Titan

It can be hard to walk the line of "rugged, stoic work truck" and "comfortable, enjoyable daily driver" when you're designing a full-size, light-duty pickup. It needs to be strong, but it also can't suck down fuel like it's a soda on a hot summer day. It needs to be able to haul gravel, dirty and muddy equipment, and heavy loads without breaking a sweat, but it should be able to carry you in comfort from work to pleasure and back again.

The new Nissan Titan walks this line incredibly well.

The New Titan is Made in America

We know that products made in America are preferred by the average St. Louis shopper--it's why domestic brands are typically really popular, and why people sometimes check the tag twice before they buy something. But, did you know the new Nissan Titan was designed, engineered, and built by more American hands than you might think? In fact, the Titan actually boasts a higher "Made in America" score than Ram Rebel, the Chevy Silverado, or the . With manpower coming from places like California, Michigan, Mississippi, and Tennessee, a huge number of Titan components, including engines, are made in the USA.

Read on to learn a little more about American-made powerhouse engines:

Powertrain, Performance, and Towing Capacity on the New Nissan Titan

Across the overarching Titan nameplate, there is one gas engine that powers every trim level: a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gas engine, good for 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque when mated to a smooth seven-speed automatic transmission. With this powertrain, the Titan can tow up to 9,740 pounds, with up to 1,950 pounds of max payload, and the bigger Titan XD, which can tow up to 11,380 pounds.

You can, however, upgrade to the "every-duty" new Nissan Titan XD diesel, which comes standard with a Cummins 5.0-liter V8 Turbo Diesel engine (310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque) that can tow up to 12,640 pounds, with a payload rating of nearly 3,000 pounds.

New Titan Price and Payments

Here's the cool part:

The Nissan Titan--with all of its features, performance capabilities, aggressive exterior design, and smooth driving experience--has a starting MSRP of just $30,030. That's a price that can fit most St. Louis budgets, without making you compromise on the things that you want. That means you can get much more bang for your buck with the Titan than with many of its domestic rivals around town.

What's the difference between the Nissan Titan vs the new Titan XD?

When you're looking for a new truck in St. Louis, the hardest part is usually figuring out which trim/style/configuration you want. Luckily for you, all three major styles of Titan truck give you a lot for the money, perform well in all conditions, and are pretty powerful and fun to drive.

Nissan Titan

As mentioned above, the standard Titan comes with a 390-HP V8 gas engine. Its base model is pretty stoic and a little spartan, perfect for the STL driver who's just looking for a muscular work truck, but models like the Titan SL or Platinum Reserve offer a huge list of standard and available tech features.

Nissan Titan XD

"Titan" is becoming flexible--similar to Chevy's "Silverado" title. While the Titan and the Titan XD are different trucks, they're often lumped together in one, big, happy family lineup. The 2019 Titan XD is similar to its smaller sibling in features and design, but its tougher, stronger chassis and its more powerful V8 gas powertrain set it apart.

Nissan Titan XD Diesel

The new Titan XD diesel is identical to its gas-powered counterpart, but adds a legendary Cummins engine to boost horsepower, torque, towing, and payload ratings across the board.

Nissan Warranty Coverage on Every New Titan

We're excited to say that new Titan and Titan XD full-size pickups come standard with "America's Best Truck Warranty"*: a 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty that beats out competitors' standard protection programs by two years and 64,000 miles. An American-made truck that's backed by manufacturer confidence? Now that's getting your money's worth.
