New Nissan Frontier For Sale Near St. Louis

The Frontier is the smallest truck in the new Nissan lineup, sitting below the full-size Titan and the "every-duty" Titan XD. It's a great choice for drivers in the St. Louis Metro area who want a capable, versatile vehicle that won't cost an arm and a leg. The Frontier lineup gives you choice of two cab styles, seven total trim levels, two powertrain options, and available packages. The "King Cab" is an extended-cab style with two full-size doors and two smaller rear-opening doors that provide access to the small back seat. The Frontier Crew Cab is a standard crew, with four full-size doors and full-size front and rear seats.

The New Nissan Frontier Has a Lot of What You Love: See Why It's Right for Your St. Louis Lifestyle

Called the "Navara" on the global market, Nissan's midsize Frontier truck has been a modest and stable choice of pickup-truck shoppers since the late 90s. As the segment has become more and more popular (and fuller) over the years, the Frontier has remained steadfast. It isn't quite keeping up with the over-the-top bells and whistles that you might find on some other weekender small trucks, but it's still the most affordable new truck on the market with plenty to offer.

What's New In The Nissan Frontier?

While not a major overhaul or redesign, the newest model year promises a handful of welcome updates and an exciting boost in power. At AutoCenters Nissan, we want to help you find the perfect Nissan Frontier for your St. Louis area drives, and this updated truck's new base engine is just what you're looking for.

Whereas previous model year versions of the Frontier received either a base four-cylinder engine or a 261-horsepower six-cylinder, the latest models get a major power boost. Every Nissan Frontier now comes standard with a powerful, 3.8-liter V6 engine, regardless of trim level.

This all-new V6 engine delivers a nice 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, and it comes paired to a smooth nine-speed automatic transmission, an upgrade from previous years.

Elsewhere, the Nissan Frontier also sees a couple of other minor updates. A push-button start is now standard for the lineup, and the center console and driver's display has been redesigned, giving drivers the modern technology and design, they love.

All these changes add up to an exciting, mid-sized pickup truck with legendary Nissan reliability and quality, and with a can-do attitude that's up for anything you want to throw at it.

Standard Equipment

The new Nissan Frontier may be small, but it's mighty. Every truck is made standard with a full-length, fully-boxed ladder frame for durability and strength. 4-cylinder Frontier trucks come standard with a 152-horsepower engine that--when properly-equipped--gives it the ability to tow up to 3,790 pounds and carry up to 900 pounds of payload. Its low starting price makes the 4-cyl Frontier the best choice for St. Louis-area drivers who want a pickup for versatility and convenience more than full-blown power.

If you're leaning more toward the latter, though, V6-equipped Frontier trucks give you 261 horsepower, up to 6,710 pounds of max towing power, and 1,430 pounds of max payload. The 4.0-liter V6 is also surprisingly efficient for its size.

Safety Features

Both extended-cab and crew-cab Frontier trucks scored a "Good" rating in crash tests by the IIHS for Moderate Overlap Front; Side; and Roof Strength. New standard RearView Monitor capabilities give drivers the added benefit of a second set of eyes, and can help with both parking and backing out of a space in a tight lot. Other standard features are right in line with industry norms: an advanced air bag system, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

What if you want to stay connected to news and events in the St. Louis Metro, even while you're on the go? The new Frontier gives you multiple ways to keep up. The standard Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System makes it easy to send and receive texts and calls. Upper-level trims also come standard with NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, which can connect to social apps like Facebook and Twitter, and can even read new posts and notifications aloud to you. The Nissan Frontier is not yet available with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, but that might change in the near future. For audiophiles, the Frontier does off an available eight-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system with dual subwoofers--now, you can enjoy your favorite albums, playlists, and podcasts to a whole new level.
