St. Louis Winter Fun: 5 Activities

St. Louis winters have historically been unpredictable. One week you could be enjoying a brisk 50 degree day, then before you know it snow and ice! Luckily, there's plenty to see and do in our beautiful city during the winter months. Even though the cold weather may make you feel like staying home, we've got some suggestions for fun in the city this season:

  • Steinberg Skating Rink: The most popular outdoor ice rink in St. Louis resides in Forest Park. Steinberg is actually one of the largest rinks in the Midwest, and it offers excellent views of the park while you skate! It'll be open through February 25th, so don't delay!
  • Hidden Valley Ski Resort: St. Louis' only real destination for skiing and snowboarding is Hidden Valley. Located in Wildwood, it has more than 30 acres of terrain to explore. Even if you've never been skiing or snowboarding, don't worry - there's trails for beginners too! There's also a Kids Zone and lessons available until February.
  • City Museum: Regardless of the season, the City Museum is always a great time! This artsy playground is the perfect exploration spot for adults and children. Get out of the cold and into some fun with enchanted caves, a 3 story slide, a world aquarium, and more!
  • St. Louis Science Center: Always a great indoor place to take the family, is the Science Center! It's got over 750 scientific and educational exhibits on display, including life-sized animatronic dinosaurs! The four story Omnimax Theater and Planetarium are musts when you visit the Science Center too.
  • The Magic House: The 1 and only interactive  children's museum in St. Louis is a great idea in the winter. The Magic House encourages children to experiment with different scenarios & activities that combine education with fun!
